| “When I finally decided, at 43 years of age, to attempt to get my driver’s licence I was extremely anxious. I had previously had lessons and three failed driving tests at 17 and completely lost my nerve. Belgica understood this and gradually coaxed me along as I slowly gained confidence. Within a couple of months I was cruising along in the centre lane of the Harbour Bridge! Belgica constantly encouraged me to expand my horizons – and had me driving to places I’d never even been to before. So, aside from learning to drive I actually saw more of Sydney than I’d previously ever visited! We had some rocky moments due to my nerves but Belgica knew when to push me and when to back off. We chatted, talked, shed a few tears, laughed and I learnt to drive. Along the way there were plenty of tips and suggestions to help not just with regular driving but also all those tricky situations like car parks, reverse parking and busy expressways. Lessons were not just about passing the driving test but about being a safe and confident driver. Six months after my first lesson I went for my driving test – and passed first go!!!
